Facebook Advertising For Easter

Leading up to Easter we have started running a paid advertisement on Facebook. Clicking on the ad leads to a page on our website promoting our Easter service in the theatre of the local high school. Facebook estimates potential reach of the ad at 2 million Facebook users within a 50 mile [...]

Facebook Caution

(From LifeHacker.com) According to a study conducted by computer security company Sophos, anywhere from 41 to 49 percent of users (by age group) they test-requested friendship with on Facebook accepted their invitation. The problem, as they see it: After they became friends with people they don’t know, they’ve got access to dates of birth, email [...]

Another Free Book

Just downloaded another free ebook - this one by Steve Farrar. It is being offered as a free download from www.sermoncentral.com.
The book, titled "Battle Ready" looks to be a good resource for Men’s Ministry. I haven’t read it as yet but a quick skim looked good.
You can download it here

E-book On Biblical Productivity

I just came across a free E-book on Productivity written originally as a series of posts on C.J. Mahaney’s blog. While quite short (only 36 pages) it does have some good material. Well worth the short time it takes to read it.
You can get the .PDF file here.

Facebook Ad

This is the ad we’re currently running on Facebook. Nothing fancy, just wanting to get the church’s name in front of as many people as possible.

You’ll note that the text input on Facebook’s ad manager does not allow any formatting of the text.
So far after two days - 319,000 impressions with a click count [...]

Free Graphics/Photo Program

Adobe Photoshop is a great program, but, if you’ve looked at buying it recently you know what "sticker shock" is all about. Many times it is out of reach of the budget of a non-profit.
A great option with a great price tag is a program called Gimp. Developed as an open source project it has [...]

scribd.com

Just became aware of a web site called scribd.com which has free books and periodicals along with some sample pages. I looked through a couple of the magazines that are available and it looks good.
Could be another great resource, and, best of all, it’s free!

Specific And Practical Emag From Granger

Just browsed through the 2009 “Specific and Practical” emag put out by the staff at Granger Community Church. While much of it is advertisement for an upcoming conference there are some helpful points and reminders made throughout.
I particularly liked the children’s ministry, welcome team and the “that’s just GROSS” article featuring the Toilet Bowl [...]
