I’m Back

I haven’t been doing much blogging over the summer – due to vacation, some projects at the church and the general pace of summer life in the city.

Classes start again after Labour Day and it looks to be an interesting term in “Marketing Management.” There should be lots to write about with the intersection of marketing and faith.

I’ve been resisting the seductive pull of the IPhone (love the phone but hate the contract here in Canada). The siren song of Blackberry keeps reverberating (especially the models with WiFi) but I’ve decided to keep my old Nokia 6275i Smartphone which already synchs with Outlook for calendars, contacts, etc and will in a pinch let me read my GMail.

I did take the plunge yesterday to buy an HP mini (netbook) now that the price has dropped to just at $300 CDN. The keyboard on this model is supposed to be 92% of the size of a regular keyboard but it is taking some getting used to. So far I’ve got MS Office 2007 installed along with a couple of other programs and it zips right along (Windows XP, 1 gig of ram, 160 gig hard drive). Best of all it weighs just a bit over two pounds. I’m looking forward to trying this out at class as it’s a lot lighter than my 16” laptop.

Any typos in this text should be attributed to getting used to the keyboard and are not the errors of this writer. Now where is that enter key?
