Great Resource - Soundview Executive Summaries

As a pastor I came to the conclusion a long time ago that to stay fresh and to stay cureality checkrrent I need to read. The  challenge is to balance my reading time between theological/inspirational/church growth books and secular management/leadership type books.

A great resource that I came across while I was on a St. Louis - Montreal flight and flipping through the airline’s magazine is Soundview Executive Summaries. Each month they provide 3 summaries (8 pages each) of new business books, including this month the new offering by Guy Kawasaki - “Reality Check” (which I’ve already got reserved). For about $100 USD I get 36 books boiled down to the main points. The great thing about it is that in my experience many books have 1 or 2 great ideas that will come through in the summary thus saving me a lot of time that I can use in other ways. It also is a way for me to preview and see if I really want to spend the $30 dollars to buy the book.

The other convenient feature is that you can download the summaries in various formats including pdf, eBook, Palm, html and for those who like to listen to books on the go, in mp3 format.

Count me as a satisfied customer passing along a time saver. Check out their website at www.summary.com - I think it is a great investment.
