Congratulations To Rev. Billy Graham
The major topic of this blog is Public Relations so I wanted to give kudos to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
While visiting a senior citizen this week she began to tell me how she and her husband had supported the BGEA ministry for many years. When her husband passed she felt comfortable enough to write directly to Rev. Billy Graham and received a nice letter in reply over his signature. That, along with a card at Christmas and a letter that, as she described it, related the feelings of Rev. Graham at the loss of Ruth Graham with the loss that she had gone through.
For the skeptics - it’s probably true that Rev. Graham never saw the letter and that they were form letters. Public relations is about creating image and reputation. For the price of a couple of stamps they enhanced both image and reputation with this senior, something we all can take a lesson from.
Plus a little off of the topic, The BGEA is an evangelistic organization that has safeguarded its reputation and the reputation of Rev. Billy Graham. That not only is a moral victory it is a public relations triumph!
